In the past months I’ve been working on the DIY penlight “Luminous Rhythm Emitter”. I’ve now built the first working examples, meaning I can release the resources to build one yourself with the public. Feel free to download and build it yourself! It’s not perfect, and the software is still a work in progress, but in a working state. If you need help or have questions, feel free to contact me. Since it’s based on an ESP32C3 it can be controlled remotely as well (via Bluetooth and WiFi).

Here you can find resources to build one yourself: https://github.com/KaitoCross/LuminousRhythmEmitter

For those who are attending the 39th Chaos Communication Congress in Hamburg at the end of this year I can offer a building kit (at cost price at likely around 15-20€) that includes the electronics. If there’s enough time I might be able to print some more cases as well. Please contact me beforehand if you’re interested.

Looking for volunteers

To further leverage the remote control function, I’m planning a mobile app. The goal of it is to automatically seamlessly integrate the penlight into Vtuber/Idol/JPop concerts. However, since I’m not an expert in mobile development, I’m looking for volunteer developers to help in creating an App for both Android and iOS. If you’d like volunteer, please contact me.
